The water level of the wetland will affect the growth and distribution of aquatic plants, thus directly affecting the foraging and habitat of wild animals, especially waterfowl. To ensure a consistent water level, there are numbers of valves and pumps located in ponds and mudflats within the Hong Kong Wetland Park. In addition, the park has a one-hectare reed bed that filters suspended matter and absorbs nutrients to enhance the water quality of freshwater marshes.
We provided a pump control system from a pair of redundant PLC to control pump circulation for regulating water flow. The system will provide sufficient water flow for the reed bed to filter suspended solids and absorb nutrients.
